From raw sisal to finished work, every GASYRUG creation goes through the same stages with the same exacting standards.
From thread to artwork

01The fibre
A biodegradable fibre, grown locally, that respects the land that produces it.

02The gesture
The fibre is hand-braided and precisely calibrated for each pattern.
A rug two metres in diameter means 1,200 metres of braids and more than 300 hours of work.
More than sixty artisans bring GASYRUG’s creations to life through an organized, committed transmission of skills. Braiding natural fibres is an ancestral craft handed down from generation to generation. GASYRUG draws on this heritage and infuses it with its own codes to create unique, exceptional works.
The dexterity of our artisans is a strength: a strength that is cultivated, passed on and capable of transforming lives. Through her work, each artisan gains autonomy and becomes empowered, helping a whole community grow with her.

03Colour
The shades are conceived for each work, nuanced like a palette.

04The work
Every work bears the mark of time, of gesture and of the care of the hand.

05Authenticity
Each work bears a unique number, engraved on a silver plate integrated into the rug. A certificate of authenticity and a QR code lead to the piece’s page: from fibre to finished work, its journey is traced. The artisans who braided the sisal and those who shaped the work are identified there.
What is not shown
Some gestures are shown. Others are passed on.

An idea, a place, a piece
Let’s imagine it together.
Shapes, colours, sizes: let us adapt a piece, or create one together.
